I opened my eyes in an unfamiliar bedroom. "Where am I?" I looked around. "The last thing I remember was heading home when..." Before I could even stand up, a searing headache hit me, and information flooded my mind. Apparently, I had died at the hands of a robber and was somehow isekai'd into the body of a suicidal teen.
The teen's name was Leonard Rageheart, a 17-year-old orphan for three years. After his parents died in an accident, he'd lived in New York for two and a half years but couldn't move on. He'd recently relocated to Forks, Washington, where his parents owned a secluded forest mansion they used for quiet retreats.
But the move hadn't helped. He had isolated himself in the mansion, his psyche worsening day by day until he took his own life with an overdose. And then, today, I woke up in his body.
The question was, why me? I was just a regular college student. I hadn't saved anyone, I didn't get a truck blessing, and I certainly wasn't some backstory holder. If I had to say anything about myself, it was that I was a 'technology and entertainment maniac.'
As if answering me, a weird screen—a hologram, or whatever you call it—appeared in front of my eyes. The text read:
"Congratulations on winning the first 'Jump Ticket.' The winner gets to go to a random world, with some bonuses but no wishes. Everything you got is based on your first life's likes and dislikes, but in harmony with your new world. So enjoy!
P.S.: The mansion basement is a tech lab with a little material storage. Just imagine the material you want, and you will find it there as a gift for being the first winner, along with couple of properties and organisation under your comand.
P.S. 2: Status view included."
After reading it, the screen vanished.
".....So, basically, I got 'yeeted' to a disco ball vampire world... okay," I muttered. When you talk about Forks and fiction, you're talking about Twilight, so that was easy to figure out. It wasn't my favorite, but I liked some of the characters, so it could be fun.
Now for the Status. Another screen appeared:
STATUS
NAME: Leonard Rageheart
RACE: Moon Lion / Winter Eagle (Hybrid)
Abilities:
Unhuman Body: Super strength, speed, thought process, and senses in human form (on par with vampires).
Shapeshifting: Lion, Eagle, Winged Lion (can adjust the size from normal to 20 feet maximum).
Moon Bite: Awakening the Beast instinct of the bitten, giving him the ability to communicate with his/her inner beast (after the process, any race will keep the standard abilities and eliminate the weaknesses). Can only be used one time during each full moon.
Beast Lord: Respected and loved by land and aerial beasts and animals. Can communicate telepathically with them.
Ice and Light Elements Manipulation: Create and control the elements.
Technopathy: Can control and understand any type of technology.
"I started to think maybe it's not Twilight," I realized. As weird and cringey as Twilight can get, it's still a relatively normal world, only with a bunch of walking crystal corpses and big wolves, and this status is too OP. I sighed and looked out to the forest.
Well, I'll figure this out later when I go to school. For now, I need a shower; the old me hadn't had one for days.
The Cullen House....................
In the living room of the Cullen house, Edward sat at the piano, poised to play. Emmett and Jasper were playing video games, while Esme and Rosalie were chatting on the couch.
Alice, heading down the stairs, suddenly stopped in her tracks, spacing out. All the Cullens noticed and gathered around her, knowing what was happening. Only Edward had a look of weird dread on his face.
When Alice started to move again, she looked at Edward, then Rosalie, and said with a wide grin, "I found your mates..."
Before she could continue, Rosalie jumped at her. "Really!? Who is he? Where? How does he look? No, that doesn't matter, how is his pe—" Rosalie trailed off, her cheeks flushing. Everyone looked at her with a wry smile and didn't stop her; after all, they all knew how much she was waiting for her mate.
But Edward, being the emo he was, broke her happiness. "She doesn't know," he stated flatly.
He earned a collective frown from the rest of the Cullens, but Alice sighed and confirmed, "I don't know. All I saw was you sitting on someone's lap, and when I got closer, my view changed to a full moon night, and then the vision stopped." She hugged Rosalie and continued in her usual cheerful tone, "But don't worry! I know you will meet him in school next year. And Edward's mate, too," she added, looking over at him.
Rosalie pulled her and spun around, thanking her.
Edward, however, turned and headed for the stairs. "I don't deserve a mate, and there's no way I'm turning her into a soulless monster like me."
All the Cullens shook their heads at his stubborn statement.
Only Rosalie stood there, deep in thought.
