I was playing when suddenly I realized I had awakened. I was female version of Serverus Snape from the world of Harry Potter. I was really scared at first but somehow was able to calm down. In two days I will turn eleven. My nose is not croked as described in book but now I an really scared. But one thing I can say for sure is that if I wish to survive I have to gain power.
But first thing first I have to increase my physique. I am too thin for my own good. This is not good. My skin is also too pale for my liking. I thought I was normal but after seeing how rosy Lily was I am not. Possibly due to lack of nourishment. I was wondering what to do when I heard my Da shouting downstairs. Ma and Da are fighting.
I wanted to intervean but remembering how my own nose was broken I chose to remain hidden in quite instead. I felt pathetic. I felt weak. I felt guilty for not being able to help my mother. I chose to drown the silence by trying to sleep instead
The next day-
"Selena get up sweety. It's morning already. The sun is high in the sky." Ma said. I was feeling drosy but got up when I remembered what hapened last night.
"Ma are you okay." I asked quitely.
"I am fine my dear. Now get up we have a birthday to prepare." She said but her bruised were saying something else.
"Ma why did you marry dad." I asked.
"I married him because of how kind he used to be. He wasn't always this scared of magic. He was rather fascinated by it. He looked at me like I hung the moon and stars." Ma.
"What happened then Ma." I asked.
"Suddenly he changed. It was like someone cursed our family." Ma said before breaking out into sobs. I thought and suddenly something dawned on me. Something from Ma's story. Because if he was that loving then suddenly turning into a monster smelled like magic to me.
"Ma what if he is under influence. Just like in the story's you said." I asked. Ma suddenly stopped and realization dawned on her. She just hugged me and said there may still be a chance again and again.
That night when Da returned mum used magic to tie him to chair. She performed certain spells to confirm before breaking out in sobs. She though handeled herself and brewed something and gave it to my father. He began to heave and wheeze and scream. Mother sent me to sleep.
My birthday-
"I was sleeping when suddenly a bird hooted near my window. I walked near it to see an owl tied with my letter. I immediately let her in and untied the letter. It was my hogwarts letter. Yipeee.
"Ma ma see I go my letter. I got my letter." I said while running downstairs. I stopped immediately upon seeing Da. I guess my fear must have shown on my face cause he broke down in tears.
"My own daughter is scared of me." He said between sobs while my Ma was comfirting him. Guess my theory was true after all.
"Da I-I got my letter to Hogwarts." I said trying to act brave. He just hugged me and continued to sobs. Later we celebrated my birthday. It was just like a dream. Ma and Da happily celebrating with me. It was not grand but it might have been the best one yet. I still could not believe it.
I met the evans family later. They greeted me warmly. Lily was the usual exited about everything. Petunia was staying away from me but not saying anything mean. Maybe her parents warned her in advance.
Later when I returned home I heard my parents whispers. Father apologizing between sobs. Mother trying to calm him down. Turns out it was her parents that through dark magic were able to control my father for all these years. They will pay for these torturous years we suffered because of them. There are still seven months left before hogwarts start. Today is January 9. I have to improve my health by that time.
(Seven months later)
Da had changed a lot. He stoped drinking al together. He workd hard in his job. He tried to spend as much time with me and Ma as he could. He was maybe trying to rewrite our past. He also ensured that me and Ma are well fed. I also suggested for me and Da to start jogging everyday. It was fun. Soon Ma too joined us. She started using magic again. My complexion had gone rosy.
I was no more sickly pale. Same for my ma. She also tought me potions and a bit of her family magic. Two days before Hogwarts a system was initiated.
