Chapter 24 - Time

Phuture, Terrance, and Chicago made their way towards Richmond as ordered, arriving to a cold city with heavy winds but the stench of demons was heavier.

The town was full of demons with powerful spiritual essentials, she couldn't believe the capital of Virginia was ran by demons. Until she thought about how difficult it must be to reach Richmond, Virginia.

In April 17th, 1861, Virginia seceded from The Union when the Virginia Convention passed an Ordinance of Secession. That established Virginia as the largest state of The Confederacy. That paid huge factor for The Confederates and boosted their confidence, giving them an industrial, mining, and miltia boost that was much needed.

The boost of Virginia was so beneficial, they quickly decided to make Richmond the capital of The Confederacy a month later in May 20th, 1861.

The Union was struggling with battles in the East, losing the First Manassas and being overwhelmed by Confederate forces throughout the summer and fall.

Things were changing suddenly throughout the last few weeks, and the cause arrived to their home grounds.

The trio were in the heart of Richmond, attracting the attention of thousands of demons when they arrived.

Terrance chuckled at the sight of several demons approaching them slowly, circling them from all directions despite his essence being at full power.

"They're just so bold…" Terrance tapped his allies on the shoulder one by one. "Let's kill them all one by one, you guys ready?"

Terrance was about to power up his divine energy for the first time since The Confederate Demon, but the bright orange and blue skies of the sun rising turned gray. The entire world turned gray, the grass, trees, clouds, and the demons circling around them. He turned around to see only Phuture remained in color, and the world around them at stand still like it was paused.

Both Divine Gods could only think of one person who could use the technique, the leader of the Time Patrol, Time.

He was about six foot tall, an alien from the Outer Galaxies. His skin was light blue and physique strong in build, an ingenious and powerful species.

Time and his patrol were in charge of many timelines and dimensions from several worlds. Usually Time would send one of his team members for the mission, but he made special exceptions for special grade involvement.

What is happening on the outside of this Time Realm? Can Chicago handle all those demons by himself?

"Dark and Phuture…" Time's soft voice spoke out, revealing himself to two beings he hadn't seen in years. "The two of you are much different from our last time meeting."

"A lot has happened." Phuture replied, feeling the tension rising as seconds went by. "What's up, Time?"

"You know why I'm here…" Time folded his arms while shaking his head. "You're changing too much shit, this is historical inaccurate!"

"Time…we really don't have any time for this."

"You're out of time and place…I have to stop this from-"

Time's mouth was shut quickly by Terrance, being grabbed by the face and tossed into the air disrespectfully.

"Damn!" Phuture called out while watching Time's body fly miles away. "Don't kill him! We could use him to our advantage…remember that Peace is traveling through time."

Terrance replied. "I remember, but we just don't have time for this…"

Time used teleportation to arrive back after being punched to another city, he made sure to keep his distance from the overpowered Terrance.

Phuture wanted to do the talking so she could prevent an altercation, only because it would certainly end up with Time being dead and his patrol would be utterly screwed.

"Listen, we're trapped here because of the Demon Lord Valeur." Phuture spoke out in efforts of negotiating. "We don't belong here but we're certainly not gonna sit back and wait another four damn years until The Civil War is over. We're trying our best to get out of this sticky situation…so you could help us if you really want us home!"

Time strongly felt that he only had a few options, and defeating them wasn't one of them. Phuture was only at about ten percent and she was still a huge threat for him, but Dark's power was way about his league.

"What are suggesting?" Time asked, willing to negotiate since winning wasn't an option. "I will not help you change history, it's simply not my nature to go against time."

Phuture rolled her eyes. "Even if it could save millions of lives?"

"I'm sorry but that has nothing to do with me, history changing falls back on my hands. If you need me to do anything that doesn't pertain to altering history, I can oblige."

"We believe Peace is traveling through different worlds and timelines to locate us, just find him for us and bring him here."

"Why would I bring another one of you here? Peace will be sent back home where he-"

"We can honestly just kill you and proceed at our own will, someone else will likely help us find Peace eventually. You're just Time so I'm a billion percent sure you can speed up the pace."

Time shook his head, he sighed deeply and thought about the offer before him. His only options were to find Peace, or be killed by Dark and Phuture. He thought about just going ghost and leaving them to fix their own shit, but that wouldn't sit well for future encounters with the divine duo.

"I'll assist." Time said, but first you have someone else who's been wanting to speak with you."

Time snapped his finger to summon forth the person he was speaking of, an entity named Death.

Death, a brown skinned woman with long curly hair and black glasses. She wore all black from her tank down to her jeans and heels, she was elegant and fashionable.

Death smiled without greeting them. "Celie and Terrance Ward are supposed to be dead. I'll help as well, but all of us need to keep this away from Valeur for long as possible. All of this started from his transmigration, therefore he should be the one defeated and held accountable. It'll just take all of us working together…or he'll kill us off one by one. I've done my history on Valeur…he's not a demon I wanna encounter."

Terrance and Phuture both glanced at each other after being approached by Death, but neither of them sought out a reply.

The two of them had so much history with Death, so many memories flustered their brain at once when she arrived. The stunned duo remained quiet and in their heads, Phuture felt nostalgic and emotional to add on her shock.

That's right…she's the Death from 1861…she doesn't know what's in store for our future. She doesn't have the technique of knowing her past, future, and present all at once like Time.

Phuture fought back tears and approached Death to hug her, she said. "Death…thank you."

Instead, Phuture thought about the young man left behind with one thousand demons and her worry for Chicago rushed through her bones again.

"Find Peace, or I'll kill you." Phuture demanded. "Now send us back."
