Chapter 8 - His Royal Guard

I sat in the carriage my arms crossed, Christopher refused to answer any of my questions but instead warned me about disobeying him again. I wanted to ask more questions but I knew I wouldn't get anything. All I could do was wait for him to come back.

"Well..well..well so who do we have here," a handsome man with soft, chestnut hair that fell across his forehead said as he got in the carriage and sat beside me,"The girl who finally caught the King's eyes, But who would blame him, you really are beautiful," he gave me a smile that could warm any girl's heart. Their was something about his brown eyes that made you not look away.

"I'm Princess Jackline, " I introduced myself "I know but you're forgetting one thing" he paused, as if wanting me to ask him what I was forgetting "Well now you're no longer a Princess, you're a Queen" then he gave me that smile again." So what was the beautiful lady thinking about?"

I couldn't help but smile. There was something about him that made you feel comfortable, something about his voice that made you feel you could trust him and that smile that made you drawn to him. I knew ladies were going crazy over him but he looked like a heartbreaker.

"we were attacked a few moments ago but the bodies were no where to be seen..I didn't get your name"

"I'm Alexander lustre, the King's royal guard" he smiled "And about the bodies let us take care of it don't think of it too much. Now let's get you to your new home, the palace"

He got out and opened the door for me. There were other carriages and other guards waiting outside. Alexander ushered me to one of the carriages but there was one person I couldn't see. " where's the King?" I asked not that I was really interested to know where he was," he had some business he had to take care of but he'll meet you at the palace. "Is the Queen already missing him?" it sounded more of a mockery," But you don't have to worry I'll keep you company and am more fun compared to him" he winked playfully.
