Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 The Beginning

A leaf fluttered down from a tree and landed on Alexander Kami's face. His eyes fluttered open revealing his deep blue eyes, he sat up from under the tree and his ruffled his hands through his auburn hair. It had been three days since he came to this new world. He was wondering if she made it here too, he leaned back against the tree and thought to himself, "what a peaceful world." he closed his eyes soaking in the morning breeze thinking about how long its been since he found himself in this new world. Wondering if she made her way here too.

Dogs barking, slobbering at their mouths as they chase Alexander who's running as hard as he can away from them carrying his satchel full of food. He spots a chain link fence and tries to climb over it, one of the dogs manages to catch him. Latching on to his ankle forbidding him from makeing it over the fence. Alexander tries to fight the dog off, pushing through the pain he makes it to the top 3 other dogs are at the bottom waiting for him to fall back down to their side. He kicks, punches the dog that has latched onto his ankle and final shaked the dog off causing it to fall. He manages to make it over and onto the other side of the fence twords safety.

"Hey you little brat give me that food back" a burly bald man with a thick gut yelled at him.

"Now why would I want to do that?" Alexander retorted. "Looks like you've eaten enough."

He turned and sprinted away letting the bald man's words fall on deaf ears. As Alexander neared the small cottage that he called his home the pain from where the dog bite grew intense, his blood leaving a trail. With every once of strength he had he hobbled inside the door Slamming it behind him. He sank to the ground. clothing the food he grabbed for dear life. Panting and put of breath he knew he had to clean his wound and bandage it but he lacked the strength to do so.

"Is this how it ends for me" he asked himself. "Bleeding out in this godforsaken world where the rich get richer." He closed his eyes ready to accept his fate happily, when he felt some water being poured onto his wound. His eyes shot open and saw a girl about the same age as himself cleaning his wound. Her strawberry blonde hair fell in front of her face, she brushed it back revealing her dark amber eyes. For a second Alexander was at a lost for words the pain from his ankle didnt seem to bother him anymore he was lost in her beauty. Then the searing pain of her pouring alcohol onto the bite brought him back to reality.

"OW FUCK. What are you doing?" he exclaimed in pain.

"I'm cleaning your wound." her voice reminded him of angel, soft, quiet and with a gentle sort of caring sound.

"But why, people dont help people for no reason in this world. Not since the New World Government (NWG) made all crime legal." he said distrusting her act of goodwill. "how did you even find this place?"

"Well I'd like to believe that there are still some good people left in this world, and you dont look like that bad of a guy. As for your other question I kinda stumbled upon this place. It looked safe..." she said quietly.

"Well yeah it was safe, no one has been able to find it since ive lived here"

"How long was that, also what's your name?" she questioned.

"My name is Alexander Kami, but you can call me Alex for short. Its been a few years since I've lived here. Whats your name?"

"My name is Kayla Lua, uhmm is it okay if I stay here? if thats okay?" She pleaded.

"Do you intend to kill me when I let my guard down?"

"No I couldnt dream of doing such a thing." She panicked worried he would say no.

"Then I suppose it should be fine for you to stay." His eyes grew heavy from the blood loss and exhaustion. For some reason he trusted what she said. "I'm gonna take a nap, im too tired." Trusting that he didnt have to be on his guard around her put his mind at ease. Soon his eyes grew too heavy to keep open and he passed out.

"Alex? .... .... ALEX?" She exclaimed relizeing he had fallen unconscious, with every fiber of strength she had she brought him to the bed and played him down on it makeing sure the bandage was wrapped tight. Hoping, praying that he would wake up soon. its been awhile since Kayla found somebody who was a decent sort of person. She sat by his side watching him, takeing care of him as he laid there vulnerable.
